History of Wildwood Men's Section

While club records show that the Wildwood Men’s Section (WWMS) golf league was formally incorporated under Saskatchewan’s Non-Profit Corporations Act on February 19, 1985, anecdotal reports claim that it began as early as 1969.  Initially the group was allocated a block of tee-times on Monday evenings, since most of the golf members were then in their 20’s or 30’s and having to work during the day.  In the 1980’s when the City of Saskatoon allowed retail businesses to stay open on weekday evenings, a block of Friday evening tee-times was added to accommodate those golfers working in retail who could no longer golf on Monday evenings.  As time went on and the number of retired members grew, Monday and Friday morning tee-times were eventually added to accommodate members who wished to golf earlier in the day.  

Over the years our WWMS has become very popular with local golfers, now boasting an annual membership of some 200 golfers.  The WWMS organizes and hosts several annual golf tournaments and socials and has been a long-time supporter of Junior Golf.
