On July 6 approximately 70 golfers participated in the annual Men’s Section 3 club tournament. The weather cooperated but typically the wind was up a bit this year.
The event was organized by Robbie Chan and Doug Beattie. Thanks go out to all of those involved in setting up and taking down the tent and to Gord and Roland for running the bar once again. Thanks also go out to Gerry Hadwin and the kitchen staff who helped organize, prepare and serve the meal. Thanks also go out to the pro shop staff for their assistance.
Handicaps were used to determine the event winners. One half of the 18 hole course handicap was used rounded up to the next number if necessary.
This years winners were as follows:
First place: Al Rowan with a score of 32. $50 pro shop gift certificate
Second place: Tom Unger with a score of 32. $40 pro shop gift certificate
Retrogression was used to determine the winner of this tie.
Third place: Gerald Prybylski with a score of 34. $30 pro shop gift certificate
Other notable scores were Allan Pilon at 35 and Scott Sutherland, Roland Tamke and Kevin Pilon at 36.
The 50/50 jackpot of $135 went unclaimed. The winning ticket number was 1128022 (purple and white ticket). Please contact Gord Malinowski if you are the lucky winner.
Orange tickets were given out to those that dressed in Hawaiian attire. Four $25 gift certificates for the Venice House were drawn for at the conclusion of the meal. Three certificates remain unclaimed. The winning unclaimed numbers are: 0476025, 0476006 and 0476040. Gerald Prybylski claimed the fourth door prize although he was dressed for the Dominican Republic and not Hawaii. 😉
Winners can pick up their gift certificate at the pro shop upon presenting the winning ticket.
The closest to the pin of Hole 5 was won by Wavell Howard. A sleeve of balls is waiting for Wavell at the pro shop.
